What Darkroom is
A data market where AI pays for answers and never sees your files.
Darkroom pays people when AI uses their data, without handing the data over.
You seal a file on your phone: a voice note, a dashcam ride, a receipt, a dream journal. It is encrypted in your browser to the key of a room, a locked Intel TDX machine. AI labs and agents never get the file. They ask questions across thousands of people's files, the question runs inside the room, and only the answer comes out.
Every query is paid in USDC on Solana. 70% goes to the people whose files it read, once a day. 15% buys and burns $DARKROOM, and the rest pays the model and the room's operator.
Three things keep it honest:
- The floor. No answer ever reads fewer than 25 negatives, so no answer is about one person.
- The verifier. Anyone can check, in the browser, which code the room runs and that the key you encrypt to belongs to it.
- Leak traps. Every buyer's view hides fake rows that exist nowhere else. If one leaks, its secret proves who leaked it and the buyer's deposit goes to the owners.
